ACCORDING TO JANE: A Novel About Pride, Prejudice and the Pursuit of the Perfect Guy

~Coming from Kensington Books, Fall 2009!!!
~Winner of the 2007 Golden Heart Award for Best Novel with Strong Romantic Elements!

~Commercial Women’s Fiction, 95,000 words
~My special 385-page tribute to the genius of Jane Austen merged with my narrative ode to growing up in the ‘80s.  Why these two themes?  Why simultaneously?  I have no excuses...other than to say I believe bizarre juxtapositions can create magic and Jane's wisdom never goes out of style.

FOR LOVE OR FALAFEL

~Commercial Women’s Fiction, 95,000 words
~A story that falls under my subset of novels tentatively catalogued as: One of Those Books My Parents Always Feared I Would Write Someday and Now I Have.  It has a whole lot to do with marital discord, family craziness and food addiction.  But--seriously--it’s way more upbeat than it sounds.

A SERIES OF FIVE OTHER (EARLY) WOMEN’S FICTION AND CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE PROJECTS

~The titles of which have changed so much over the years I can only refer to these manuscripts by descriptive names such as “You Know, The Book With The Ice Cream Festival In It,” “That Internet Dating Novel,” “The Comedy I Never Submitted Because The Line Closed,” etc.

THIS DAY IN THE LIFE: Diaries From Women Across America (Three Rivers Press, editors Cole, Joffrey and Rakhra, 2005)

~My contribution to this fabulous anthology is miniscule (all of one paragraph), but the project was so wonderful I wanted to mention it anyway.  The editors collected diaries from nearly 500 American women, all written on a single day ( 6-29-04 ), and they compiled those candid, insightful moments into a book that showed “24 Hours of True Life Stories."  They did a similar project a couple of years prior to this one, and they’ve recently released the third book in the THIS DAY series.  More information on their work can be found at www.thisdayinthelife.com.
